Amid reports of record inflation in the US, the euro against the dollar fell below $1 for the first time since 2002.
According to the US Department of Labor, inflation increased by 1.3 percent compared to May, and by 9.1 percent year on year.
This was the highest rate of inflation in the United States since November 1981.
