HOUSING SALES GROW IN TURKEY

Home sales in Turkey rose by 11.7 percent in June compared to the same month last year to 150,509 units.

Such data are provided by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TÜİK) on Tuesday, July 19.

June data was 22.6 percent higher than May when 122,768 housing units were sold in Turkey.

Istanbul accounted for the largest share of sales in June, accounting for 18.6 percent of total sales in Turkey.

In total, 27,998 housing units were sold in the metropolis last month.

This is followed by Ankara -8.8 percent (13,303 housing units) and Izmir - 5.5 percent (8,243 housing units).

The least of all housing units were sold last month in the provinces of Hakkari (40 units), Ardahan (44 units), and Bayburt (90 units).
